Hi! I’m Elien

Elien is an architect based in Ghent, Belgium — originally from Deinze and educated at Howest in Bruges (Applied Architecture) and Sint-Lucas in Ghent (Architecture).
While trained and working primarily as an architect, her practice extends into a wide range of creative disciplines: textiles, fashion, graphic design, color, photography, and spatial exploration. This cross-disciplinary curiosity informs both her design process and material choices.
Working with carefully selected textiles and materials, the focus lies on conscious, high-quality making. Natural or recycled fabrics are preferred, waste is minimized, and fair, responsible production is a continuous priority. Quality is approached holistically — considering not only how something looks or lasts, but also how and why it’s made.
The word sustainable is easy to say — but truly living up to it is complex. Perfection isn’t the goal; instead, there’s a daily commitment to making honest, thoughtful decisions. Sustainability is seen not as a fixed outcome, but as an evolving practice.
